If you are a US citizen, you will need to meet the immigration and work permit requirements of the island, and this often requires you to have a &quot;unique&quot; skill that is in demand on the island [i.e. resort jobs would not qualify in most cases].  Although the USVI and Puerto Rico are part of the US, so those may be more likely prospects.

Not many Americans are hired to work on cruise ships because most Americans would not want to work under the conditions and pay scale of the cruise lines.  [Norwegian&#039;s American line in Hawaii hires Americans, and that ship is known for it&#039;s poor service.]&lt;br&gt;&lt;b&gt;References : &lt;/b&gt;&lt;br&gt;</description>
