What should I do for my career: Apprenticeship or BTEC National Diploma in Travel and Tourism?

Written on February 4, 2010. Written by admin.

I have two choices either carry on studying or still carry on studying but based on a job. The thing is BTEC National Diploma is equivalent to A levels but what are apprenticeships equivalent to?

I was thinking of doing an apprenticeship with either Thomas Cook or First Choice or carry on studying, I can’t make my mind up about I’m confused about GCSE grade equivalents?!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh by the way the industry I want to work in is TRAVEL AND TOURISM!

DO NOT do a BTEC National Diploma.

They make it out to be some wonderous thing when really its a mediocre course that is not recognized by businesses in the real world.

If you can then do a Highner National Diploma (HND), its not much better but holds more ground on a CV then a National.

I wouldn’t recommend that personally… I’d suggest looking into subjects like computing, engineering, medicine, or business… These have better career prospect..
